Soft Residues #024
2026
Wood, leather remnants, reclaimed textile (composition unknown), locally sourced carded sheep's wool, vintage buttons collected
25x21x3  cm
The series Soft Residues brings together leather and sheepskin offcuts, leftover wool, and inherited mother-of-pearl buttons in layered, wall-based assemblages.
Collected from production remnants and personal archives, these materials carry histories of making, use, and preservation. Through wrapping, stitching, layering, and compression, each material retains its own presence while entering into new relationships.
Balancing softness with structure, the works explore how production remnants and inherited fragments can be given new life through careful assembly. Rather than concealing their previous lives, the works allow traces of their past to remain visible, becoming part of a continuing relationship between material, memory, and form.
